THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

RESOLUTION HONORING AND COMMENDING

 
JAMES P. FOX
2011 San Mateo County History Makers

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

 

WHEREAS, JAMES P. FOX aspired to serve as an attorney since the age of eight, and persisted in his education, working side jobs to pay for his tuition at the University of San Francisco; and

   
 

WHEREAS, in 1974, JAMES P. FOX served as the City Attorney of Half Moon Bay and as a member of the Private Defender Panel of the San Mateo County Bar Association; and

   
 

WHEREAS, JAMES P. FOX served the County of San Mateo as District Attorney for twenty eight years, striving to uphold the law, fight corruption, and keep the county safe; and

   
 

WHEREAS, while serving as District Attorney, JAMES P. FOX prosecuted several high-profile cases, including the Repressed Memories of the Susan Nason Murder, the Billionaire Boys Club, and Theft of an iPhone 4 Prototype; and

   
 

WHEREAS, JAMES P. FOX has been an active member in both the California District Attorneys Association and the National District Attorneys Association;

   
 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, hereby recognizes JAMES P. FOX as a San Mateo County History Maker and honors the historical and beneficial importance of his career to the people of San Mateo County and beyond.
