Employee Success Story: Biggest Loser Brings Big Departmental RewardsSwing by the Redwood City Probation department during lunch and you’re likely to see enthusiastic employees preparing a salad buffet, reading nutrition books, and returning from their daily walk.The Biggest Loser competition is the latest wellness addition led by Deputy Probation Officers Lisa Farris and John Aguilar with support by Wellness Champion Danielle Barringer. “If we’re here for 9 to 10 hours, I want us to have some kind of fun,” says Lisa. “Our job can be stressful at times, but I also want to see people laugh and enjoy themselves.”more>>
Employee Soccer Tournament ~ June 29-30, 2013After a five-year hiatus, the “County Cup” Employee Soccer Tournament is back! It will be held on Saturday, June 29th and Sunday, June 30th at Hoover Field in Redwood City. This event will be a 7 vs 7 team event played on AYSO fields. Each game will last 45 minutes (2 – 20 minute halfs).
Co-ed teams are forming now through May 24th. Like our other weekend events, it should be a fun, recreational weekend and a great opportunity to socialize with co‑workers and meet employees from other County departments. The first twelve teams to submit their completed team packet (team fee and roster) will play in the tournament.more>>

The San Mateo County Employee Wellness Program is an employee service designed to promote your health & well being through a variety of health, fitness and educational programs. Please take a minute to read our Mission Statement and Program Values and Goals. As a County employee, retiree or family member, you are encouraged to take an active role in taking good care of your health. One way is to participate in the Employee Health & Fitness activities offered at your work-site. You can attend many employee health programs on County time at little or no cost to you.
Registration Procedures:
For registration and information about a specific program, service or activity, please log in to the County LMS or contact the individual listed below the program description and schedule. If no coordinator is listed, e-mail Health & Fitness or call (650) 363-4315.
Except where indicated, all Employee Health & Fitness programs, services and activities are conducted on County time with your supervisor's approval. Programs are available to retirees, family members and extra help employees on a space available basis at program cost. E-mail Health & Fitness for more information and prices.
Programs funded solely by participant fees are noted, and no County funds are used to pay for these activities.
