Catastrophic Leave The Catastrophic Leave Policy is designed to assist employees who have exhausted paid time credits due to a serious or catastrophic illness, injury or condition of the employee or his/her extended family. more>>
Child Care The County has one on-site child care center at the County Government Center in Redwood City. In addition, the County has established relationships with two additional child care providers in the County more>>
Deferred Compensation Deferred Compensation permits full-time and permanent part-time employees (working 20 or more hours per week), on a voluntary basis, to authorize a portion of salary to be withheld and invested for payment at a later date upon termination or retirement. more>>
Dental Plans San Mateo County employees may choose from two dental plans. more>>
Disability Benefits The County offers Short Term Disability Insurance to employees who are not enrolled in State Disability Insurance (SDI). more>>
Employee Assistance Program The Employee Assistance Program offers access to confidential counseling and referral services to assist you or members of your family in handling problems related to work, personal relationships, finances, drug and alcohol problems, or other life concerns. more>>
Employee Health & Fitness Programs The San Mateo County Employee Health & Fitness Program is an employee service designed to promote your health & well being through a variety of health, fitness and educational programs. As a County employee, retiree or family member, you are encouraged to take an active role in taking good care of your health. One way is to participate in the Employee Health & Fitness activities offered at your work-site. You can attend many employee health programs on County time at little or no cost to you.
