Membership
21 members; five consumers with no professional interest in emergency medical care; one from each of the following professions: emergency department physician, emergency department nurse. One representative of each of the following: Hospital Administrator, Medical Society, American Heart Association, American Red Cross, California Highway Patrol, licensed and accredited San Mateo County EMT-Paramedic, County Office of Emergency Services, County Communications Public Safety Dispatch Center, Countywide Emergency Ambulance Contractor, Police Chiefs' Association, County Health Officer and County Coroner. Two Fire Service representatives, at least one of which will be a representative of the Fire Chiefs' Association
Term
4 years; maximum 12 years
Duties
Review annually each of the ambulance services operating within the County; ambulance services offered within the County; first aid practices in the County. Establish and monitor emergency care guidelines; presents recommendations to improve emergency care; and establish and monitor critical patient treatment and transfer guidelines
