I’m Warren Slocum, the newly elected member of the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors from the 4th district. I was elected to office in the November 2012 election and assumed office on January 7, 2013 in a ceremony at the Fair Oaks Community Center in the heart of District 4. I am the last supervisor in this County to run “at-large” and be elected by all voters in the county, even though I reside in and represent the 4th district. My current term will expire in January of 2017.

It is an honor to represent the people of the Fourth District of San Mateo County who reside in the southern Bayside communities of Redwood City, Menlo Park, East Palo Alto and the unincorporated area known as North Fair Oaks.  I’ve made my home in Redwood City for the past 30 years and my children attended and graduated from our local public schools. I plan to use my background, interests and experience to work on improving the quality of life in the Fourth District and San Mateo County so that the Peninsula continues to be a great place to live, work, play and raise a family. I care deeply about this beautiful area we call home.

As a Supervisor, I welcome your ideas, questions and comments. I hope to hear from you as we tackle with the issues before us—whether it’s the implementation of the North Fair Oaks community plan, the efforts to resolve the flooding issues of San Francisquito Creek, the work of the Domestic Violence Council, the working plan for the Arts Council, or something altogether new.  Just know - whatever the issue, my door is always open.
