We Are San Mateo County
![]() |
It was President John F. Kennedy, who in 1963, encouraged the country to work together to resolve differences by focusing on common interests, and in doing so, help make the world safe for diversity. I believe JFK would be proud of this wonderful place called San Mateo County, where its people and places draw tremendous strength from the collective diversity found across all socio-economic spectrums. This Peninsula is family-centric suburban communities; breathtaking coastal panoramas; state-of-the-art technology innovators; and everything in-between. We are SFO, one of 25 busiest airports in the world; we are the cutting-edge technologies of Oracle and Electronic Arts; we are Brussels sprouts and artichokes and Dungeness crab. We are San Mateo County. Although I am the county supervisor for District 5, which comprises Daly City, Colma, Brisbane, unincorporated Broadmoor and a portion of South San Francisco – some of the most culturally diverse communities in the county, I proudly represent ALL of San Mateo County. Please take a look around my Web page, especially the FAQ section, where I have compiled answers to some of the more common questions and inquiries I have received in the recent past. I hope the information is useful. If I may assist with anything, please feel free to contact me at your convenience. I can be reached at (650) 363-4572 or email me at ATissier@smcgov.org.
