Program staff work with other government agencies such as the Mosquito and Vector Control District, City Code Enforcement Officers, the Humane Society and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

County Services
Program staff do not provide extermination services. They respond to requests for assistance or complaints about pests and vectors in the following ways.
- inspecting private dwellings and businesses
- enforcing state and local health codes
- advising residents and business operators about how to handle infestations
- when necessary, taking direct steps to control the problem
- identifying pests
Staff also conduct surveys to track where animals and insects are located and if pest control measures have been effective. They educate the public about how to keep homes and businesses free from diseases transmitted by vectors. To contact Environmental Health staff with questions regarding vector control, please call 372-6200.
