Devil's Slide Coastal Trail Project
Board of Supervisors Adopt Devil’s Slide Trail Final Project Plans
At their October 1st meeting the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors adopted the Devil's Slide Trail Project's final plan.
The Devil’s Slide Trail Project involves the conversion of the segment of Highway 1 south of the City of Pacifica, which was closed after the opening of the Devil’s Slide Bypass Tunnels, into a public multi-use non-motorized trail. The project includes roadway surfacing, signage, accessibility improvements, habitat protection, and overlooks. The 90% project plans include revisions based on public comments and staff review.

Devil's Slide Interpretive Signs
San Mateo County Parks Department is proposing to install 10 interpretive panels for the new Devil’s Slide section of the California Coastal Trail. The panels will interpret the geology, history, and natural features found at the site. The purpose of this meeting is for the Commission to review the proposed panels, solicit public input, and recommend finalization and production of the signs. The signs are planned to be completed and installed by March 2014.
At their October 3rd meeting the Parks and Recreation Commission reviewed the signs and recommended they be finalized and sent into production.
