New Volunteer Opportunities at Fitzgerald Marine Reserve
Help protect the marine life at Fitzgerald Marine Reserve by becoming a volunteer at the Reserve. We are recruiting volunteers to partner with San Mateo County Park rangers to educate visitors on how to get the most of their visit while safeguarding the Reserve’s natural resources, including harbor seals that use the beach for birthing and resting. Volunteers will receive training on the County ordinances and federal laws that protect marine life. Rangers will provide instruction on effective communication methods that engage and educate visitors while ensuring an enjoyable and safe experience. Other volunteer opportunities include working with County staff to help preserve the reef and manage invasive plant growth – steps that will safeguard the Reserve so it’s here for generations to come.
