County Program Encourages Residents to Discover a County Park on Saturday, September 11, 9 a.m. at Junipero Serra County Park

You are invited to Take A Hike 2010.  This series of hikes will take participants on guided tours of a County park each month.

Just bring water and dress in layers and comfortable shoes; we will supply the beauty and fresh air courtesy our San Mateo County parks.

The next hike is on Saturday, September 11 at Junipero Serra County Park in San Bruno. In addition to hiking, the park’s 106 acres of meadow and hills provide opportunities for picnicking and play as well as extraordinary vistas of the San Francisco Bay.  The park has two playgrounds: one near the DeAnza Picnic Area, and the Meadow View Playground, which features a double 54 foot-long slide.  Plan for a hike that will be approximately 1.5 miles long and take under an hour. Future hikes will feature trails in San Pedro Valley and other lovely parks throughout the county (see below). If you’ve talked about increasing your fitness level, spending more time with the family or learning about local history – Take A Hike.
