Jack Hughes, Partner, from Liebert Cassidy, Whitmore presented overviews and legal
updates on POBR, AHA/FEHA and Unique Compliance Issues Raised by Peace Officer
Disability Accommodations. A highlight was understanding POBR Interrogation Rights
specifically how Government Code Section 3303 of the POBR creates peace officer
rights when a peace officer is “under investigation and subjected to an interrogation”
that could lead to punishment.

3:30 p.m. California’s New Paid Sick Leave Law (AB 1522)
Jeff Sloan, Partner, from Renne Sloan Holtzman and Sakai presented on AB1522 “Sick
Leave for All”. The presentation focused on who is covered, what employees are
entitled to and what employers are required to do. Discussion followed.
